2010 was great, 2011 will be better!

Ah...the proverbial New Year's resolutions. Do I need to create a list of things I want to change? Every year, I scribble on a piece of paper some of my "must change" or "to do" for the New Year. Unfortunately, like I said in previous blog entries, some of the things I listed that I would do never pan out. Still, each year, I feel a bit disappointed to see some of the things listed the previous year and the years before that are still showing up on my New Year's resolutions list.

I've heard people say that they write come up with resolutions only to break them. Funny isn't it? Although it may not be intentional, most of us feel the same way. I know what I need to change, I concoct a plan to change them and then manage to break them each year. However, instead of giving up, I keep on trying. I don't know yet if I should really give up on my resolutions. Certainly, this is not how one should feel during the first week of the new year. I think I should stick to writing resolutions and hope for the best. Some of the things may not go as planned, maybe due to things I don't control. However, I control my attitude towards things, so I think the best way is to keep doing my best each time.

This year, my resolution is to review and revamp my resolutions of last year and do my very best to stick to the plan each time. I will be more aggressive; however, I will also be more realistic with my approach. I always say that I go where the direction of the wind takes me. It's like riding a ship. However, if I see that my ship is about to hit an iceberg, I should turn the wheels and go to the direction that may be arduous, but I must do in order to survive.

So, I guess this is it. Sounds like a plan. Happy New Year and Good Luck to Me!
