Updates on Writing 2010

My writing gigs gave my family spending money for entertainment and be able to afford other things that our regular income could not afford due to other financial responsibilities. DMS continues to assign special assignments to me and trusting in my ability, even though I am not a writer by profession. I learned a lot of things from DMS, some of my articles showed on sites that include USAToday. AC has started picking up for me as well in 2010, especially towards July when Yahoo bought AC. I've seen higher paying assignments. I got accepted to write for Yahoo!Local, Yahooo!TV and some of my article featured on Yahoo!News as well. BH is still my least income producing writing gig; however, I love the idea of writing in various subjects so I stick around. Besides, putting all my eggs in one basket is not a good idea. BH is a work in progress. I still need to learn the ropes in there. I hope that by early 2011, I will be a BH expert.

Another Year...2009 was full of trials, but glad I am still here!

I must say that with all the hardships that I have gone through in my lifetime, nothing could compare to the last part of 2009. Health-wise, 2009 was one of my lowest years. My diabetes got worse due to my own doing. I also got my anemia back. Last time I had it was in high school, 28 years ago. Then, the latter part of the year, I underwent major surgery.

Although 2009 was full of health issues for me, it was also the year to celebrate something. I lost 50 lbs! Yeah...I guess I should celebrate right? Well, not too fast. Reason why I lost weight was because I got sick. Having new doctors (1 for general health and 1 for women's health) was a godsend. The two female doctors are like peas in a pod. They were caring and explained to me that if I do not take care of myself, I'll be in deep doodad. Well, pardon my French. So, I started dieting, exercising and eating healthy. I was more active than years before. No more sedentary lifestyle for me. The result-- my blood sugar dropped tremendously, my iron level improved and even my asthma has gotten better. By the time I was going to undergo surgery in December, I was in the top form of health in 17 years. I looked and felt great!

This New Year, I intend to keep my weight stable. My blood sugar level should be at a stable level too. I need to work on losing more weight. I need to be healthier. So, 2010 I should be better than I ever was when it comes to health. As far as other things...I will continue to hone my craft and be the best that I can be.

Happy New Year and Good Luck to me!
